Its the best statue in Louvre museum. It deserves visiting only to admire its beauty. For me its the best in the world and second cones Venus of Milos also Greek and at the same museum. Without those tow masterpieces Louvre could be almost naked

Winged Victory of Samothrace (also known as the Nike of Samothrace), a masterwork of ancient Greek art dating back to around 190 BC. It currently resides in the Louvre Museum in Paris. DID YOU KNOW NIKE ...When Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman were looking for a new name for their emerging blue-ribbon sports shoe company in 1971, An employee suggested they name it Nike [after the Greek goddess of victory]. The Swoosh: The iconic curved Nike "Swoosh" logo is heavily inspired by the statue. It is meant to be a stylized graphic representing a wing, directly referencing the powerful wings of the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the speed and motion they embody.
