She said he was beside her near the corridor by Target when he suddenly disappeared around 2:30 p.m. He was never seen again. But investigators quickly found inconsistencies. D’Wanna failed two polygraph tests, and authorities began to doubt her account. No witnesses reported seeing D’Wan at the mall, and he never appeared on any of the twelve surveillance cameras. Instead, witnesses claimed D’Wanna arrived alone—around 3:30 p.m., an hour after she said her son vanished. Despite suspicion, no charges were ever filed due to lack of evidence.
