STOP 🛑 complicating homemade pickles. This is the 2-day pickle trick you need.✨ This is my go-to ratio for perfect pickles every single time: For every 32 oz jar (about 1 liter): • 2 tablespoons kosher salt • 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar • Filtered water to the top Using a 64 oz jar? Just double everything. For a 1 gallon jar you would use: * 8 tablespoons kosher salt (which is 1/2 cup) * 2 cups white distilled vinegar * Filtered water to the top Once your jars are prepared, leave them right on your counter for 2 days. After 2 days, transfer them straight into the refrigerator and they’re ready to enjoy. And always keep in mind, the longer they sit and marinate in the fridge, the more flavorful they become. These can last in your refrigerator for up to 3–4 months. Get creative with your combinations. One of my favorite tricks is adding beets to white cabbage or cauliflower and watching them turn the most gorgeous bright magenta color. The beets add beautiful flavor too so don’t throw them out, they’re delicious. I don’t even bother with peeling the beets or turnips, just wash and scrub the peel. For my carrots and onions, I like them a little sweeter so I add: • 2 tablespoons sugar per 32 oz jar • 1 tablespoon oregano • Bay leaves For cucumbers, I love adding fresh dill, whole garlic cloves, and peppercorns, but honestly this is where you can really make them your own. Not only are they gorgeous on the table, they’re the perfect salty, tangy, cold, crispy snack alongside any meal. #sivanskitchen #easy #pickles #homemade #nofoodwaste
