i'm legitimately curious if you have a home and you have a storm shelter in your home gets destroyed in your home went down on top of your storm shelter as sad as it is to think this way… Like how do people even know the whole family is down there… Does someone go around and check all storm shelters ?

moved to Oklahoma last year, and one of my 2 requirements was a storm shelter. Hopefully, we'll never need it, but we have it if we do

I have lived in Oklahoma my whole life, we have always had to be with neighbors in shelters or had them in ours. If we can’t put shelters in everyone’s home, why not community shelters? Actual shelters that are accessible and that allow for pets. Or just safe rooms built into homes, it should be a given at this point.

question, unheard that not all houses in the state's have basements. is that true for Oklahoma? , cause I feel like they should and have them reinforced, to double as a shelter.
