It pisses me off so much. Alot of muslims, especially arabs, have this weird tendency to think they're being more "religious" by being more arab which is so stupid and unislamic. They complain about how the great pure arabic is now "impure" because of the dialects, when it always had very vastly different dialects that arabs were known to use travelling interpreters among each other for commerce. The whome "i wish we go back to speaking standard arabic", when we literally didn't, and historically our ancestors outside of the arabia area were worse at standard arabic than us. Languages are literally alive because they change, a language that doesn't change is a dead one. I understand how some are apprehensive about adopting foreign words into the vocabulary because of globalisation and ne colonisation, but looking down on new words that are made from arabic origin is literally asking for arabic to die

Slang doesn’t mean inappropriate or offensive, and fusha Arabic is the standard language, so technically dialects are not the standard, and they aren’t full languages because they can’t live without borrowing from fusha. Also Fusha and Amiyah are both beautiful languages and we should appreciate that

that said, I'd never pick up a book that's written in a dialect or has significant portions of it outside of dialog. the only exception being parody or joke books
