I believe your feeling is due to the number of individuals you must keep track of. Two or three in one location is easy, but two in one location, and another in a different location? You’re economizing on your situational awareness. The dogs? Their behavior will be vaguely the same.

It’s not irrational. If you leave together they they act like the children of a married couple, if you leave separately they act like the children of a divorced couple

Same!! I’m always worried about how long I’m gone and leave them. But we are going out to dinner tonight and I’m sure they will be fine.

If you are both out separately how do you know when the babies are being taken care of? Together you know exactly how long they have been alone.

Is it the same at home when you leave the room? Somebody has to stay behind if one of you goes upstairs in case the dogs get mischievous.

My dad's dog is a bit opposite. Everyone has to be out or no one can be out. If one person is missing, he's an anxious busybody looking for them until they get back. If all are out, he just gets up on his chair and naps. We *all* have to watch him or he needs to be alone.

Could you’s not just leave at the same time but then go your separate ways so the dogs don’t know or if it’s your mind that’s frazzling then I get it 😂
