Total network noob. Can I do all this type of blocking except keeping one work laptop unaffected ? I want to add an ad blocking feature into a home server I want to install. I just don't want to affect my wife's work computer. her work uses AI, teams, remoting, and they monitor productivity (keystrokes and mouse movements). I just want to make sure they still have full access to their laptop but I want the rest of the devices on my network to have as much autonomy as possible.

Unbound DNS on opnsense with block lists while using cloudflare dns is the best way to go

i run 2 nodes of Pihole. One on a VM another on a physical mini pc. I replicate records between the 2. So when I power cycle my virtual env, I still retian DNS for the rest of the network

I used pihole on 2 raspberry pi's tucked away not realising they didn't have onboard clock. lost power & when it came back couldn't work out for ages why couldn't get back on internet. was because the pis were defaulted to 1970 & stuffed up everything.

If that’s the only thing that is getting listed as missing from pi hole, then you’re not running the most up to date version. It literally has the same thing for services to block.
