Yes it’s beautiful but 1 shared bathroom, no A/C, old windows, although gorgeous, are probably single pane plus all the problems older homes have and your payments once you include insurance, taxes etc is going to run somewhere around $4,400-4,900 month, that’s just not realistic. Not picking on this particular sale it’s housing everywhere. Average pay in Chico is $68,000 while most make lower, how is this supposed to work out?

Housing costs are wild. I'm in Oroville, I pay $949 for a 3 bed 2 bath on an acre. This is such a small home for being worth 2 times more than my home. This home is also much older than mine. If the owners want to remodel, because of the age of the home, they will most likely need abatement for lead paint and asbestos before they restore, which is EXPENSIVE. $6000 for abatement in ONE room in my home and another $5000 to restore. 100 year old money pit and they're selling it for almost 3/4 of a million. And don't forget, a swamp cooler will cost you about 2k to install or an a/c which will probably cost about 10k. Butte county with no a/c is unbearable in the summer.

The full size washer & dryer are in the basement. The basement is huge and fairly creepy but overall a great home.

There are homes in Amber Grove neighborhood that are so much bigger and nicer for that price wow that is insane! It’s a cute starter home but for that price 😳
