I’m so confused as an engaged woman. What could I possible expect from my family and friends. This is an event IM planning. My friends are my GUESTS. I don’t get this rhetoric. I also don’t see a marriage as “leveling up” I don’t even really understand are they supposed to make every conversation about my event ? We got congratulation for our engagement, I don’t really expect excitement until the event.

The friend that I am most likely going to cut off would door dash to make money to do things, spend weeks prepping for events, cake to my Bach, with limited funds && thrown together outfits. I was willing to assist her financially- it’s not about the money. It’s about the principle. She talks A LOT and barely ask me about wedding planning etc…. Again. It’s not always about the money.

Very few people will show up for you. They will actually be jealous. They will not even congratulate you. I only invited genuine people to my wedding who I know their true feelings.

I think a lot of this makes sense as a 2026 bride!!! I did save the dates 1.5 years out, and invited out a little under a year out. Let’s just say I figured out really quick from my RSVPs who cared enough to let us know and who “forgot”
