My sister originally got a 5 year IUD and when she went to have it switched out they told her it was now good for 8 years. Shes hoping that it’s true because they were done at two kids.

I put one in a patient two weeks ago and the ID card that came with the device still says 3 years. I felt like an idiot because I told her it was good for five. They need to update the package materials!

So I’m getting mine out tomorrow morning… I’ve had continuous extended bleeding, long periods, 2 periods a month, currently on day 18 of my current period, was put on the pill along with the nexplanon to fix it and it didn’t do anything 😭 I’m glad it works for some people but I’ve just had bad experience after bad experience with severe birth controls unfortunately 🥲

I have a fear regardless of how long along with having pcos once I get it removed that I will no longer be able ti bear children bcs I haven't had a fkn period in so long and somehow when I have voice my concerns to my gino they just say "its a normal thing with the nexplanon and that my period should return once its removed" like girl are you sure through like 100% bcs even without the nexplanon id go MONTHS w/o a period anyways bcs i have PCOS

When I got it like 12 years ago they said it was good for 5 years, but I only kept it in for 3 years because it caused HEAVY bleeding so bad I almost needed a transfusion

going back on depo shot next week I keep getting heavy bleeding with nexplinon had it over a year since day one off and on bleeding my depo shot I dont bleed at all
