hot take: nami is the most loyal to luffy of all of the straw hats. the way she’s written, she has a reason to be. luffy was the leading force behind saving kokoyashi village as well as nami. he never gave up on her when she was with arlong. he had a “im not going to force you to ask me for help. but i’m here if you need me.” and she did. she pleaded out of pure desperation and luffy answered that call. zoro has a crazy amount of loyalty to luffy but besides being saved from the marine base, zoro doesn’t really have a reason to follow luffy or be loyal to him. i’m not saying he isn’t, but it feels like he’s using luffy and the straw hats to continuously get stronger to achieve his own goal of becoming the world’s greatest swordsman while helping luffy in achieving his dream of finding the one piece because like his own dream, luffy’s is ambitious and he won’t let anyone stop him. much like zoro.

That’s her captain, like for life. It’s not just a role to her. She genuinely wants to stay by him watching him be the freest on the seas. She probably won’t admit it but….without Luffy near her at all times, she doesn’t feel as free to accomplish her world map.
