my grand daughter does it too. I am gentle parent but I am firm in my firm voice like somaya safe now you have 2 seconds. these are l0 years old. I agree consequences basis they don't like power manipulation techniques

i thought i was alone in this. because it's a regular debate between me and my 11 yr old son... yes my so, jhb boy being raised in dbn - alphas are raised to speak up... somehow gentle to somewhat gentle parenting has EMPOWERED them to be insistent on them literally taking alpha status and owning the right to dictate their perspective as valid. but I wish we could undo whatever we did to teach them the difference between firm and shouting. so much of time is spent in this very issue. 🫠🙃🇿🇦🌻

Your parenting style is exactly Gentle Parenting. There’s a huge misconception that it’s letting your kids do whatever they want without consequences. But it’s holding your child accountable in a firm but loving manner but without hitting or shouting whilst keeping yourself in control. This is important so as adults they learn to treat their spouses with the same respect. And same lol I’m like I didn’t even scream🤷🏻♀️yes they are sensitive but it’s also good because they are learning that emotions are okay whereas we were raised to hide and feel ashamed of our emotions.

Yeh, I have a 16 an 21 year old and I have the same thing. I’ve said to the girls, that they should understand the words they say when they using it. Cause it’s like ‘shouting’ and ‘mean’ what that does that mean🤷♀️
