in Australia 🇦🇺 your supervisor would fire you we have to keep the slab clean as possible. the cement is scooped up hawk and trowel from a table set up in the room we shovel the mud out of a wheelbarrow on to the table and scoop it up and push it on the walls. we go back few weeks later and do the white sett coat over the top cleaner the slab the better

This will make bricks unbreathable. Moisture builds up causing bricks to deteriorate faster.
