This recitation took place on 7th April 2024 at Newbury Park Masjid in Ilford, London. That day was a long one. I broke my iftaar at one event, led Taraweeh at another masjid, then came here for Qiyam. I was genuinely close to cancelling because of fatigue. But I pushed through and asked Allah to accept it from me. Surah Furqan has since reached people around the world in ways I never expected. That was always the intention. I remember hearing Sheikh Luhaidan recite it and feeling something deep in my heart. It stayed with me. I just wanted to share that same feeling with others. Alhamdulillah, Allah allowed it to reach further than I could have imagined. I have had people message me from different parts of the world. One moment that really stayed with me was when someone came up to me and said they were a revert. They told me they only knew Surah Fatiha and that portion of Surah Furqan. That was it. Out of the entire Quran, those were the words they carried in their salah. That really humbled me. To think that on a night I almost cancelled, Allah allowed those verses to become part of someone’s daily prayer. It reminds me that we never truly know what Allah will place barakah in. So we ask Allah to forgive us for our shortcomings with His Book. We ask Allah to forgive us for the times we neglected it, rushed it, or recited it without reflection. We ask Allah to forgive us for when our actions did not match the verses we read. We ask Allah to accept this recitation and every recitation we have ever shared. We ask Him to place barakah in every letter that was read, every ear that listened, and every heart that was softened because of it. We ask Him to make the Quran a witness for us and not against us. We ask Allah to grant us sincerity in public and in private. We ask Him to purify our intentions and protect us from showing off. We ask Him to make us from the people of the Quran, not just in sound but in character and in action. We ask Allah to make the Quran the light of our hearts, the clarity in our confusion, and the strength in our weakness. We ask Him to allow it to intercede for us on the Day we stand before Him. And we ask Allah to ease the affairs of everyone struggling around the world, to grant relief to the oppressed, and to guide us all back to His Book in a way that changes us for the better.
