ARAKAN ROHINGYA SALVATION ARMY Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army ARSA ARMY STATEMENT DATE: 25 August 2026 REF NO: ARSA/ST/19/2026 ARSA STATEMENT ON THE 9TH ROHINGYA GENOCIDE REMEMBRANCE DAY, 25 AUGUST 2026 On the ninth anniversary of 25 August 2017, we remember one of the darkest chapters in the history of the Rohingya people. On that day and throughout the weeks and months that followed, thousands of indigenous Rohingya civilians were killed, families were uprooted, villages were destroyed, and hundreds of thousands were forcibly driven from their ancestral homeland. We remember all the martyrs and the struggles our brothers and sisters have gone through. We have not forgotten, and we will never forget, the black day of 25 August 2017, when thousands of Rohingya civilians were killed through various forms of violence by the Myanmar military and its allies across Arakan State. The world and our Rohingya community must remember that the genocide against the Rohingya did not begin only in 2017. It began long ago. In 1942, nearly 100,000 Rohingya civilians were killed by ethnic Rakhine extremist groups backed by the Myanmar military. Violence against the Rohingya has continued for decades, with repeated waves of persecution and atrocities throughout successive decades committed by the Myanmar military. Our people have suffered since birth. Each generation has experienced waves of persecution and violence. We know the pain, and we remember all the suffering our people have endured. Due to the continuing violence against the Rohingya people by the Myanmar military and its allies in Arakan State, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) was formed to defend our people. We therefore stand with our Rohingya community in its pursuit of justice and peace. We will continue to fight until we achieve the rights of our community and secure justice, dignity, freedom, and peace for the Rohingya people.#RohingyaRemembranceDay #🇲🇲❦Mrs❦Queen❦☞N☜❦Alom☜❦➴🇳🇿 #JusticeForRohingya #RohingyaGenocideRemembranceDay #RohingyaRefugeecamps
