Yes! I experienced this. It made Mom angry because I raised my children to follow their hearts. My friends were chasing financial wealth, and picture perfect lives. I felt my children should enjoy all aspects of life, nature, people and make their own stories.

Thank you ! You just connected two beliefs I hold but had remained independent . One we choose our parents ( often to fix generational ills) and two we should take on the sorrows of others to create a more perfect world … light bulb ….we choose to come fix it all .

#3 is difficult, however I have trained myself to be in the same room, but don't engage, don't look at then, don't sit close to them, I pretend they aren't there. It's a boundary, it's a trauma bond. I refuse to pass this trauma onto the next generation. They don't deserve it!!❤️

I cut the cords and when i met my grandmother she pushed me to meet my narcissistic father and i did in her house but i already cut the cords so when i say him n without his flying monkey it felt so robotic the whole energy n emotions was mine i felt like im talking to a black hole
