I put mine inside and at the top. It does it's job and it doesn't get dirty. It's useless to put it outside where dust, mud and whatnot will just get in the way of getting a clear view.

How about direct sun? Would that adhesive would hold or it will be detached. It needs 3M double sided adhesive rated for -15 to 65 °C

...condensation forms within the lens cover, making visibility of the camera poor.... if you drill a small hole in the bottom side to vent the cover it helps somewhat. Otherwise... don't waste your money. sorry.
