I work for landscapers and u could use mulch around the tree and then put a flower bed on the other part

check the ph of the soil. If it's acidic enough you could get some amazing blueberries growing on the outer edge. Tree bench around the base and maybe some kitchen herbs that will tolerate the conditions. Different gravel or mulch for the rest

Landscaping tip: run your lawnmower along the patio edge and curve it around to figure out where the new bed should be. Then mark that off. You’ll appreciate the sweeping curve when it comes mowing time.

there's heaps of plants that love shade, primroses, geraniums, violets etc. A little bed under there would look lovely 😍 some evergreen bits so its pretty all year too!

Tie up a tarp on the bottom branches that funnels the acorns to a five gallon bucket. Then you can use the acorns for feeding wildlife in winter
