@guanhistoryandculture: Elizabeth Frances Baaba Sey (1927–1991) was a pioneering Ghanaian educator and the first woman to graduate from University of Ghana, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953 when it was the University College of the Gold Coast. Educated at Achimota School, she broke barriers in a male-dominated academic environment, inspiring generations of Ghanaian women to pursue higher education. Sey built a distinguished teaching career, serving at Wesley Girls’ High School, Saint Louis Secondary School, and Achimota School, where she became Head of the English Department until her retirement in 1987. She also worked as an Education Officer in Sekondi and contributed to educational development through the Ghana International School.
