A lot of the British bands learned jazz and blues way before rock came around. Just like Elvis learned, jazz, and blues when he started rock here. If people really listened, you can hear it in Eric Clapton Pink Floyd The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who practically every band that came out out of the UK has that blues or jazz background

Pink Floyd is one of my favorites, every few years I go to a PF Laser light Show of PF's music. There is a Song called "Wish you were here", where Pictures of famous musicians, mostly in the rock scene, who have passed on, are Pictured on the big screen. Pictures of Hendrix, Elvis, even Sid. They always include Pink Anderson and Floyd Council in those Pictures.
