I don’t mind having female friends or even just starting off as friends on the way to a relationship. However, if I’m interested and they make it clear that we’ll only ever be friends, they instantly stop being a priority. Because now we’re just friends. That means that another girl that I’m interested in will probably have all of my attention. That means that I’ll stop scraping together time for them if I’m busy. I’ll still hang out with them and reach out, but it will be the same way I do with all my other friends. Whether or not I’d still be down to date them if they eventually decided they liked me really depends on the situation.
