Pattern recognition set in deep after I graduated college and I went into a DEEP depression. It took so much therapy to find joy in life again

The pattern right now feels pointless and empty

Everything is meaningless until WE give it meaning. And that’s beautiful to me

ok, my therapist has been looking for the voice that is me,... because I only have the observer, and guess what, its not there, so I have no sense of self!
and it sicks, because I can only measure my worth by my impact on the world.

Literally. “What is the point of life”. “ I get up every morning and I work so that I can eat and have a place to live. But is that all there is to life?”

This is an issue for me with friends. My bf thinks I hate people but I’ve started to notice choices or behaviors that only need to happen once or twice and I’m like. “I’ve seen this, I’ve dealt with this before I’m not giving my energy to it again”

The counterbalance is that anything can be interesting if you look closely enough. Hello, hyper focus!

I like reminding myself that I truly have free will and even if I find myself in those repetitive moments I’ll just go outside and touch grass, swing on the swings, or allow myself the pleasures of life including a solo date to the movies/concert/a nice fancy dinner to shake things up

See, I can zoom in. I can accept the singular instance as meaningful. Then, I zoom out. Farther and farther. Connecting everything that was, is, and will be. Putting the pieces together from 1000 different angles, breaking it down to its core, then piecing it together again in 1000 new angles. It never stops. I don't control it. It has shown me things about myself and humanity that make me wish I could stop it all, because it never ends well. But I'll continue the process again, putting the pieces together, because it never stops.

This is so true. I had never heard anyone else mention this before, but have the same thoughts all the time.
