A lemon tree to bloom takes at least 7 to 10 years if it’s grown from seed. That’s why lemon trees you buy are all from rootstock with graphs in them because they will bloom or flower within about three years of the grafting. To give a seed grown lemon tree, the best chance to flower you must use citrus fertilizer. I wouldn’t put all my eggs in this basket.

Please any one that grows lemon trees from seed know that they have to be grafted, but a screw through the trunk until it splits and cover the cut with plastic it will bloom for sure. Works on all seed grown fruit trees including papaya trees
