@wannabe.diary: This used to terrify me. Is she okay? Is it gas? Do I pick her up or leave her? And meanwhile she’s just making dinosaur noises at 3am. 🦕 Most newborn grunting is completely normal. Immature digestion, active sleep, gas building up toward those early morning hours. But here’s what I noticed. Some nights were way worse than others. More grunting, more restlessness, more wake-ups. And it wasn’t random. It was connected to how the evening went. When the nervous system goes into sleep a little overstimulated, a little overtired, it shows up at 3am. Two things changed everything for us. Gentle tummy support before bed and slowing the whole evening down the right way. Less grunting. Calmer nights.
