@dr.adam.dell: Life was moving wonderfully along until trauma occurred—then time stopped. Now you’re forced to live a different life—a life you didn't choose and never would have. You had a different life before, but now you're forced to live a new story. Most likely you'd like to wake up and have your old life back. This new life is one you never would’ve picked and is no easy journey. Often there is profound grief and deep sorrow for all that has been lost. Many can see your situation, but few can truly understand the depth of your pain. It can be a very lonely time. While it’s true that every person has moments of suffering, it's a mystery why some suffer more than others. If you’re fortunate enough to suffer less, it's wise to have a heart of gratitude. For the others, though, it's prudent to go slowly, perhaps moment by moment to prevent becoming completely overwhelmed. There’re lots of 'why's' that may not be readily answered, if ever. What is absolutely true, however, is that your life can yet again have purpose, joy, and meaning. It takes courage--courage to anticipate future goodness, particularly when your heart is telling you a different story. Your quiet and hard won courage will be rewarded in time. For those in Christ, he is our anchor that holds when storms and chaos swirl. Your situation may seem utterly despairing, but his presence is with you in the darkest of moments. In fact, his steadfast love never ever comes to an end. His mercies are new every morning you awaken. Great is his faithfulness. He is your hope and he will help you.
