@sirpinkbeard: Don't play with people who want to do SA in a ttrpg. that should not have to be said, but it's apparently a decent enough issue that people need to be reminded. #dnd #dungeonmasters #dnd5e #dungeonsanddragons

And that is why when I DM or play I always put in my lines and veils sexual assault and child sexual assault description as a hard line (it can be very subtly implied in games like Alice is Missing that deal with hard topics only if everybody is on board), in fact is the only line where I explicitly say it's one strike and you are out. Gladly, I never had to kick out anyone over it, but I have been told too many horror stories by friends and colleagues in the hobby as to draw a clear line.

so I'm always clear when I'm doing different types of companions and I use books and manga for inspiration and I was doing one based off goblin Slayer and if you don't know go look at why the first episodes quite controversial in a lot of people's eyes but I'm always very clear I always sit down sessions zero and we talk people what they're okay with in a campaign what they don't want all that. we have the goblin Slayer campaign everyone was fine they understood I actually lent out volume one so people could get an idea of the world. and we had two women at that table and they were perfectly fine again female DM. now I've had one man ever try to assault another player character in my campaign there was a reason I hand out special rings or jewellery at the beginning of each game when they tried this the joker I had given them at the start of the game ate their head this was a mimic they were then kicked out of the campaign but I've had four women try to get sexual with other player characters and made the men super uncomfortable and again they do that there is consequences they are kicked for my table. I have a guy who regularly comes to my table who is a survivor of domestic abuse we don't need that

Adult themes on sexuality can have a home in a TTRPG setting but the guidelines and narrative rules MUST be discussed openly with the whole group before hand and unanimously agreed upon. In practice I’ve only seen this done right once, and I don’t recommend it for most groups.

yeah definitely don't reenact SA, but if that's something someone wants to use it for backstory or lore purpose, as long as everyone has consented to it. everyone should familiarize themselves to the consent sheet.

I do a “consent” form of things acceptable at the table. At no time has SA ever even been considered. I’ve been DMing for 15 years.

general rule: players cannot kiss or kill another player's character without the other player's consent. and in my world the gods are real and they know who their people are. evil acts will change your alignment and it will have in-world consequences. (this is all naturally on top of any hard-nos established at session zero)

I was SA'd nearly two years ago and cannot handle the topic in the least. I haven't even had it in one of my character's backstories. I think having it as part of an OC's past is okay, as long as the table understand it stays that way. It's super important to keep boundaries set.

If this happens at any game/group that I'm at, I will shut it down on the spot and walk away! Assaulting other player's characters is not something I will tolerate!!

I don't hang out with people that want to do SA in roleplay. (if that's what you want to do with other consensual people in roleplay, don't come to my table.) I understand that some people with trauma want to use it as a narrative device to help them process. at the same time, understand that not everyone wants to be involved in an SA plotline. know your audience and know peoples boundaries

I don't disagree, but I do find it bizarre that we are all totally cool with murder, but we draw the line at anything sexual.

Bad guys do bad guy things. Now, let me be clear. Don't roleplay it out! That's creepy. But you can give signs and paint a picture of how evil the bad guys are.

SA does not exist in my worlds. Literally, the very concept is not a thing. So far as everyone is concerned there is an unbreakable law of the universe that stops it from existing.

V for Green :
I will preface this with I've been a DM for about 4-5 years now. I've played with people from across the spectrum, and my current and main group feature women and men. I agree that if one person at the table says no to any topics like SA, abuse, etc then you should never feature it in your game as the dm or as a player. However if at the table it has already been established that the tone of the campaign is dark fantasy I feel as though having those themes in your campaign is okay. I do agree with your point on the interplayer side of it. players should never have their characters do that too eachother. I also think even if it is a theme in a campaign it should never be described and/or glorified.
