@dammitdelta: It also isn’t emotional states. I’m a bit peeved by the childish games right now. I don’t want to get into it, but I have reason to suspect one of my alters spoke to someone from my past without my knowledge and I’ve been getting weird texts and phone calls that say “unknown” or “no caller ID.” #dissociativeidentitydisorder #complexptsd #cptsd #traumatok
the amnesia 💔 I'm so easily manipulated because I cant be sure of ANYTHING

I wish it was just funny silly haha friends in your head but no. Its hell. Forgetting extremely important things, places, and people is TERRIFYING. My system's communication is Just Now starting to fully solidify into functional multiplicity, its been nearly a decade since the DX.

I have many alters just for day to day task stuff, bc I was so mentally destroyed at 12 and for so long that for 6 years I never learned or forgot how to do basic day to day tasks bc I didn’t think it would matter if I wasn’t around, welp I’m now staying and trying to be taught basic tasks by the alters in my head

i blame the movie Split for like 70% of the stigma around DID

We're at least mostly stable. As in we have some sort of system. No pun intended.

I got diagnosed with DID yesterday and i dont even know where to start, yet i can barely even accept it. I get that its covert, but even with any sort of obvious information i have it, it genuinely doesnt feel like i have it whatsoever, even with my intense denial it feels like it makes sense for me too knowing i have it.

i like romanticizing it because it makes me feel less scared of my own head, but when i think about why i developed this for too long and the fact that i'll never get rid of it i get chills down my spine

Genuinely people tend to forget how debilitating DID actually is. It makes you struggle to have a proper sense of self and on top of all of that, not all alters like each other AND not all of them have the best intentions for your system or the body you’re in. It sucks. 😭

We are very fictive heavy and it sucks with “missing” the source

yes, but some people can form alters based on fictional characters, but not necessarily because they like them. i know people who genuinely do have those. a lot of the time the alter is a lot different anyway. i dont personally have any alters based on characters but i know people who do

the thing with my DID is i'm so zoned out and dissociated from everything that i dont usually get scared by it. but when i do get scared by my lack of bodily autonomy, i just sit there and cry. but yeah while we shouldnt demonise it, at the same time it is a condition that has people suffering immensely that many would rather be without

Sometimes reframing how we see it can help slightly just to cope with it. I try to laugh off memory gaps as a coping mechanism and try to laugh with people about "funny introjects" but it genuinely is terrifying. Those introjects formed because they were the only escape I had from horrific abuse, other alters experienced their own abuse that I have no memory of so I have no idea how to cope with it because it does still effect me physically. It's a mess, but I still understand why people with DID or OSDD try to make light of it, we don't want to just give in to that fear of our minds not fully being whole.
