AI models like AlphaFold are notorious for "hallucinating" structures that are physically impossible. They can produce "atomic clashes" (where two atoms occupy the same space) or fail to understand how a protein changes shape when it actually interacts with a drug.

I think AI is great for many reasons including driving innovation in the sciences. I hate on ai tho because companies push ai to their products when it’s not wanted and the ai industry right now is disgusting. Also don’t forget that the industry is buying out computer parts out the wazooo. AI companies and screwing consumers and businesses over by buying out tons of computer parts and making accessibility to technology more slim to the general public with the rise in demand by the public raising the price of parts like RAM, GPUs, and storage. While the benefits are sky high, I believe restrictions are needed to restrict companies from buying out supplies of computer parts, water usage, and data centers screwing communities over by using up extreme amounts of energy. With restrictions preventing greed in the industry, I can see ai being a net benefit in society, just as of now it hurts, especially as a gamer like my saving up for a computer 😔
