you are learning. each grow season brings lessens...not failure. the black tarp breaks down into your soil after couple yrs of use. cardboard is free and worms LOVE it(bonus fertilizer) use netting over veggies that dont require pollination (broccoli/ cauliflower/ cabbage etc)plant trap crops that they like more(mustard etc) learn all you can about companion planting(plant radish in your cucumber &zucchini and let it go to flower...deters squash beatles) Good luck ❤️

One of my cabbages got absolutely decimated by baby caterpillar. Ghey were tiny. I found 6 on my cabbage. Took them off by hand, took off the eggs by hand and sprayed off with hose then put netting up. ordered BT as well. I caught them SUPER young because the caterpillars were the size of an ant.
