I don’t think they hate it , it’s just very difficult to build around , preservation can only really preserve … I mean I think they can expand a little maybe by having like a follow up attack shield character or something idk but harmony / abundance are the ones that buff and heal so it’s limited in what you can do when all you do is apply a shield , like there’s different ways of healing but there isn’t different ways of shielding , maybe they could make a character than shields ult charge of other character 😭 so those annoying things that take out charge can’t take it ??? Idk

I mean, it’s kinda hard to build around especially in a turn based game. I feel like fu xuan design wise is an example of how to stray the path away from only shields but even then it’s hard to not dip into other paths gimmicks while focusing on expanding the path.

aventurine broke simulated universe so bad they created an entirely different version of it. preservation characters are insanely difficult to balance without just countering their sustain by creating anti shield mechanics constantly or boosting damage to shred shields bc non-shield sustains cant keep up.

Preservation is pretty hard to balance, you have to make sure they're a viable sustain that isn't just another Aventurine clone. They had to make DHPT scale off of ATK instead of DEF and they knew that even then he wouldn't sell well so they just made him free, typeshite🙏

tbf i think they scared bc all preservation characters become meta for like a really LONG time and they normally also provide really good dmg, maybe that's why it's only one per planet😭
