Not really how it works. Once a vehicle has been stripped, it is super rare that it has given a salvage title. Once recovered. It is almost always going to be given a crush/junk title.

That doesn’t even make sense. If the car is new enough to be worth chopping up the insurance company would total it and it would have a salvage title at the auction. Why would the cops be the ones auctioning it. At a minimum the carfax would show theft
