@mareomni: as humans, we don’t remember faces the way we think we do. over time, the details fade. features blur. memory fills in gaps where reality used to be. but what doesn’t fade is the feeling someone leaves behind. that part stays, even when everything else slowly softens. it makes sense we think we should be able to hold onto every detail of the people we love. but memory doesn’t work like that - it keeps the emotion, not the image. faces were never meant to be permanent in our minds. they change constantly and get rewritten in our minds. so maybe one day you’ll find a face is gone from your memory. but what it meant to know them never really leaves.
