She was carrying the memory of her brother Hussain - son of Ali, the children’s cries, the loneliness of the tents, the thirst of the martyrs, and the weight of a family that had been broken in front of her eyes. The one who once stood beside the sons of Ali now found herself walking with orphans, widows, and wounded hearts, searching for the body of the brother she had been forced to leave behind. In this poem, she is not speaking like someone who lost a loved one. She is speaking like someone returning to the place where her world ended. She asks to be shown the body of Hussain - son of Ali - as if every step toward him reopens the pain of that day. She calls him the moon of her happiness, the light of her eyes, the one who died thirsty, the one who used to protect them. To remember Hussain is to remember dignity in the face of oppression and tyranny. And to remember Zaynab is to remember the strength of a woman who’s heart was broken, but never defeated.
