​Urgent Appeal: Defending Girls' Right to Education and Religious Freedom in Azerbaijan ​We call upon international human rights and women's rights organizations worldwide to take immediate action in support of female students in Azerbaijan who are being denied their fundamental right to education simply for choosing to wear the hijab. ​Forcing students to remove their headscarves as a prerequisite for entering schools and educational institutions is a clear violation of freedom of belief and every girl's right to education without discrimination. Where is the personal freedom guaranteed by international law?
