Almost a year after losing my dad, I’m slowly able to breathe and laugh again, but the hole in my heart will always remain until my time comes. I wasn’t there in his final moments. I never got to say goodbye, or even hold him one last time. May we find each other again in heaven.

lost mine at 16. i’m 27 now. doesn’t get easier especially since my dad was such a solid guide in my life. adulthood is hard when you spent your childhood and early teen years being guided and built up by this figure in your life that you end up losing while you’re in your early college years.

I lost my dad nearly 8 years ago and it never gets easier. He won’t see me get married, have babies, be a part of my life physically and that breaks my heart everyday. But I want to tell you something. He may not be with you but he is still within you, he’s a part of you always. Any you will see him the smallest ways, a man with the same shirt, a laugh from a distance, a cloud that has his silhouette, a butterfly flying by, a memory from something you did together. You will never forget. And it’s ok to be happy without him, because he will always be watching. I feel my dad around me everyday. 🥺
