Go to your lender and ask for their payment scale. They have to provide it to you. lt shows how much to pay to knock years off your mortgage. l went from 30 to 13 years by paying an extra $1500 a month. Saved $195,000 in interest.

did all the steps went to the bank got all the ins and outs been paying a lot extra every month taking a 17 year mortgage down to 2 years 😉

20 year bond paid in 8 then used the funds to build another property in rurals. paid in 5. therefore 1 bond paid in 13 but hv two properties. my parents saw the loophole

A 30 year mortgage is the cheapest money you’ll ever buy, don’t rush to pay it off. Invest the extra payments instead.

not in every country! In mine the payment scheadule is in the contract. If you want to pay an extra installment, you have to modify the contract - for a fee😂

My wife paid our Mortgage off simply by paying whatever extra she could against the principal. She paid it off in 11 years start to finish.

I have already paid off my 10% permitted overpayment this year. Is it worth me paying extra and incurring the overpayment fee now? I just want the mortgage balance paid off as quickly as possible.

Take those 2 extra payments and invest them to the S&P 500. Your money will grow faster over 20 years and will have a fat retirement. Can pay off your house early and some.
