Replying to @Ju_Ju.-.22 Here’s how we did it! The board and batten calculator we found was AMAZING! (It’s on inchcalculator.com) You enter the wall width, batten width, and approx spacing you want. You can play around with it until you get it the way you want and it visually shows you what it’ll look like!! **TIP: make sure to actually measure the boards TRUE width because 1x3’s aren’t actually 3” exact.. more like 2.5”🙃 and we made that mistake not even thinking and my hubby had to rip a few boards off the wall (followed by a fit about extra holes in the wall💀 thank goodness for a good paint guy to get them patched🤣) For the 1x4 (board across the top) he made sure it was nailed into studs. For the 1x3’s going down, if there wasn’t a stud behind where it was he nailed in at an angle: angled the nail up at the top of the board, angled it down at the bottom of the board and angled out to each side in the middle, to hold better. At the bottom, I don’t like the way down board and batten walls hang over the trim weird and my hubby was VERY against painting the trim or fully removing it which I totally get and would rather leave it too, so we got a ‘inside corner molding’ piece and it’s a perfect transition from the bottom board to the trim! After all boards were up, he sanded where the boards met so it was as smooth as possible, then our paint guy caulked the inside cracks where the boards met the wall for that smooth, pure look! Hope that helps!! Comment any other questions🤍 Paint: Castilian pink by @BEHR® Paint (matte finish) Wallpaper: @Loomwell Home Goods (Code: Whitney15) #accentwall #boardandbatten #DIY #homeprojects #nurseryinspo
