@lockdown_made_us_travel_: The ULTIMATE Road Trip 🇲🇦 (follow @lockdownmadeustravel for more beginner adventure travel) Morocco is actually an amazing destination if you want your first taste of adventure travel, incredible landscapes, unique culture and surprisingly easy to explore by road! 🙌 Here’s the route we did in 12 days 👇🏻 STOP 1 – MARRAKECH 🇲🇦 Start your trip in Marrakech by staying in a traditional riad. Spend time wandering the colourful souks, trying local food and visiting the beautiful Madrasa Ben Youssef. Once you’ve explored the city, pick up your rental car and begin the road trip! 🚗 STOP 2 – AIT BENHADDOU 🎥 Just 3 hours from Marrakech, this incredible ancient kasbah feels like stepping onto a movie set. It’s been used in huge productions like Gladiator and Game of Thrones! Even crazier… when we visited they were filming Christopher Nolan’s new movie ‘Odyssey’ 🤯 Stay 2 nights if you can so you can experience the kasbah at sunset and sunrise, it’s magical! STOP 3 – DADES GORGES ⛰️ One of the most scenic drives in Morocco. The winding roads through the valley are absolutely stunning. We recommend spending one night here so you can relax and really enjoy the views. STOP 4 – MERZOUGA DESERT 🐪 Time for the Sahara Desert experience! Highlights include:�🤩 Staying in a luxury desert camp�🏂 Trying sandboarding�🏍 Riding quad bikes over the dunes�🚙 Taking a 4x4 desert tour�🌅 Watching sunset over the dunes This was one of our favourite parts of the whole trip. STOP 5 – FES 🕌 Fes is home to one of the oldest medinas in the world. Wander through the maze-like streets, visit the famous Chouara Tannery, and watch the traditional leather-making process that’s been happening here for centuries. STOP 6 – CHEFCHAOUEN 🩵 Known as the Blue Pearl of Morocco, this mountain town is famous for its beautiful blue streets. You can see it in a day, but we recommend 1–2 nights so you can explore slowly and enjoy the quiet early mornings before the crowds arrive.
