Okay. Maths time. Allowing for the area code, in British case +44 07, there is 10^10 possible phone numbers. Which is 10 billion combinations which we can use for phone numbers, specifically for the United Kingdom, so 1.25x the population of the entire planet

Well there are way more number combinations for phones than humans, and phone numbers get reused, hence why some people receive messages from people they don’t know.
