Even adopting is difficult with the gene!! I relate to this so much but I’m doing IVF to have gene negative children. I just wish I could save myself as well but I can end HD in my family with me.

we all enter into relationships unsure of the future and just because yours might be clearer doesn’t mean you aren’t that piece that truly completes someone’s life. whether you are the best ten years of someone’s life or the best fifty years, you are equally as meant for someone as anyone else is and can bring so much happiness, purpose, and joy to them. you can make someone’s life BETTER, difficulty doesn’t outweigh that 🩷

I personally know how scary that decision was to get testing for the HD gene as my mom is fighting the same disease and my aunt fault the same. You are a warrior and whatever decision you make for your future is the right one. 🫶🏼

I had my kids very young and knew absolutely nothing about HD. Now that I know what I know I would go back in time and do things differently. I love my kids so much they are my light but to think of the possibilities eats me up from the inside out. I plan getting tested very soon please pray for a miracle. 💙🦋

I’m really sorry you have to consider all of these things and carry the weight of not knowing what your future health will look like. I hope like others have encouraged, you will live your life without limitations and allow yourself to fall in love and start a family if someone enters your life that you wish to do that with.
