I tried comforting a coworker because a family member of theirs passed, and I literally wrote a book series about grief, so tried to offer genuine and vulnerable words, only to be instantly asked “are you single?” To which I responded “what’s my name?” And he answered incorrectly. He had worked with me for 2yrs.
