A lot of it may have something to do with your grain to substrate ratio. A 1:1 will typically only produce one flush. I like to run a 1:2.5 grain to sub ratio

sometimes I dont even do anything to em but mist the walls maybe usually my cakes have enough moisture by itself to push out another flush but it also takes another 2-3 weeks for more to pop up just manage moisture and soak 3rd flush

I usually soak them or inject them after first flush. Depending on how much they shrink.
