@pocketathome: Save for later! Answering your frequently asked questions about our DIY built-in IKEA pax wardrobes 👇 Q: Why did you build a base? A: Primarily to raise the wardrobes off the floor so we had space to add skrting along the bottom for that built-in look. Q: How do you secure the base? A: I screwed it into the skirting / walls. I didn't screw it into the floorboards as it wasn't necessary. Q: Did you remove the skirting? A: No, there was no need to remove it. Plus it helps to ensure a gap between the back of the wardrobes and the wall which is useful for ventilation. Q: What's the height of your room? A: Bot bedrooms are about 240cm high. Q: What height are the wardrobes? A: We got the 201cm height, as we wanted enough space above and below the wardrobes to add skirting and coving for that built-in look.
