My brother changed all the screensavers and the school was telling my mom how much they’d have to pay someone to fix it (90s). She just said “have….we considered telling him to change it back himself?” 😂

When I was 11 (hotspots didn’t exist I’m old) I tethered my blackberry to my laptop and at&t called my mom to ask why one device was using so much data. They ended up grandfathering me into free unlimited data 😬

My son somehow managed to get every Chromebook in his class to go to YouTube at the same time and rickroll the teacher. He’s 9 🤣

in 6th grade I had a typing class and we could do whatever we liked after we typed the set number of pages. My body and I would race to finish and once you were done you wrote batch files to try and turn off the others computer before they could finish.

I set up a shared partition on our schools server and spent a week bringing a USB drive back and forth loading it up with games for us to play. IT couldn’t remove it and they finally got rid of it a couple years after i graduated by redoing the entire server and starting from scratch

Once I logged on to a teachers portal at school and noticed that there were no barriers to making everyone an “admin” on said portal… the next year they had a 1.8 million $ “infrastructure upgrade” … 😅

my school learned to not make a fuss about him because they never had to have an IT on full time. There was a silent agreement that he could do what he wanted within reason so long as he could be on call during the school day for issues 😂

I’m a little old for the computer part but in high school I bought a universal remote control and would walk around the building and turn random classroom tvs on at full volume. The teacher meltdowns were worth it.

We had a kid who would just casually make masterpieces of art in MS Paint, and by masterpieces I mean he would do exceptionally detailed phalluses in exotic backgrounds. like palm beaches, amusement parks, etc

our lab was a ring network. if you didn't want to have class that day you just had to unplug and then plug back in any one of the computers. would take 30 min to debug 😬

Was in a group home with a kid named Chris and he was not allowed near any technology 🤣 this dude got mad at a staff member once and shut down the Youth Village servers which were in another state and no one got paid for like 2 or 3 weeks😭😭😭 all from the office computer 😂

when covid hit and they gave all the kids chromebooks and moved to computer instead of pencil and paper, my son who was in the 4th grade decided to send a prompt into Google classroom that turned everyone's screens upside down, including the teachers. those same teachers have my youngest this year and during a parent teacher conference remembered our son from 4 years ago and ran to get the other teachers to laugh about it. he gave IT a hard time because they didn't expect elementary aged kids to have any sort of coding knowledge and then there's my son, giving them a run for their money at 9 years old 😂

A kid in my 3rd grade class programmed all of the computers to say out loud “it is not my fault” every time an error message popped up. It was 2000 and his name was Mac. I’m 35 and think about him every time I have to call IT.

I remember in 8th grade using a Telnet command through CMD to watch a pixelated version of Star Wars. The teacher called the IT guy, and he laughed and watched it with me.
