My wife asked me out on a date when I was a dish washer and she was a waitress at work. When I was I entered college and failed an exam she told me. “I don’t need you to have a degree to love you, I’d love you even if we lived in a wet card board box under the freeway together. Many Years later when I failed the Attorney bar exam after I graduated law school she told me “I don’t need you to be a lawyer to love you, I’d love you even if we lived in a wet card board box under the freeway” and I fkn cried so hard. even after 13 years together she still is my everything.

The screenplay for this scene breaks my heart, because throughout the movie Waymond has this perception that she doesn’t love him. “Its the way you look at me.” He tells her, but in that one moment, she’s looking at him like hes the most beautiful thing shes ever seen…😭😢

the english translation of "i wouldve really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you" is a little off from the original chinese sentence, as the use of "还是会选择” (still choose) implies that in that life, he DID choose to do laundry and taxes with her, they just didnt get to bc she didnt choose him back

This move destroyed my heart and soul. Her relationship with her husband AND with her daughter were the end of me. It was really healing to watch her grow to understand how much her husband and daughter love her. And also how much she loves them. 12/10 movie would watch over and over again even if it makes me sob

i remember trying to show this to my mom and not even half way i changed it because she wasn’t paying attention. I do believe people can change, and i want to believe my mom can change but honestly this is a rare form of love. Being able to change the way you view someone and appreciate it them and learn to love them all over again and realizing your own mistakes is so rare. This movie was beautiful.

usually when i see the sad/bittersweet parts of a movie i acclimate and dont cry when i rewatch it again.. but no matter how many times i rewatch EEAAO i cry at this part and the part with her rushing to catch her daughter in every timeline, it never gets old

bro i watched that movie on a plane n nearly broke down next to my mother that im emotionally distant with. deffo one of THE ways to experience this movie 10/10 would do it again. this movie is like a thesis on love to me.
