You said that cars don’t drive there so how does it matter if you’re exposed for longer

i mean u are right but what if theres a colision or someone want to dodge a hit then thay need that extra space to avoid other cars+ tirs or buses need bigger angle to turn left or right so thay also need bigger road to turn same way where simple car will use only 50% of that road

Wider swing radius for larger vehicle vehicles like trucks which may not be moving through that area during the storm

But what your not taking into account is the plow trucks. If they don’t get close enough to the curb cars won’t drive there due to the snow accumulation

Come almost anywehre in Europe and you’ll see those triangles as green spaces. Sometimes there are trees for shade and pedestrian resting spots while crossing.

i don’t think people want to drive in snow, they drive in the same spots as other people to avoid that.

Way flawed, cars are likely following an established path when they may normally use that space, also if those areas aren’t used you are exposed to traffic longer

Cool_Pantz :
thats because people follow the tracks of whoever went first, if there was no snow there then people would be all over the road

if cars don't use all of the road when they drive then when your crossing your not exposed the whole time

I'll tell you right now the trailers use that triangle. you have to stop thinking about cars and start thinking about trucks. big trucks with big trailers

this is a flawed argument. when there’s heavy snow cars also don’t drive in their exact normal patterns because the lines are covered and people are not driving the same. so yes it uncovers areas that are not driven on during the storm, but it’s not the true areas that aren’t driven on during normal conditions.

That is so big trucks and semi‘s would deliver products to peoples houses and local businesses can make it through the neighborhoods and such
