Imagine this. You are on your deathbed. Time has run out for you. As you lose hope and surrender to death, a faint piano sounds in the distance. It sounds like hope, yearning, and love. You close your eyes, feeling the music in you just as much as memories of your life flooding in. Maybe your life wasn’t the best. Maybe it was or wasn’t fulfilling. That doesn’t stop you from remembering the loveliest moments of your life. Every time the piano plays louder, your memories shift. You remember your mother rocking you to bed in her arms. You remember playing games as a kid or doing your hobbies and wishing to grow up to pursue them. You remember being a teenager and getting all emotional over having to say goodbye. You remember your first job, and your last. You remember your first love, your first house, your first car, your first marriage, your first successes, your first mistakes, your first lessons, your first hopes, your first dreams. All of them have turned into a last now. It’s your last day, your last hour, your last minute, your last seconds, your last moment. You close your eyes as the melody of the piano turns fainter and fainter as you exhale for one last time.
