It’s actually so irritating that flick doesn’t rotate well and roony barely plays.

The crazy thing about having yamal and bardghji is that they could EASILY be rotated considering how overworked yamal is as a teenager but flick doesn’t seem to want to let him rest at all which could easily impact the longevity of his career long term the same way it did with eden hazard

It’s so annoying too because everyone wants to have a big ego and see themselves as “bigger than the club” this is why psg are winning so much because all of their players are happy

Ur right about the “players just wanna play”, but also most players wanna win just as much

Alvarez actually had the most minutes for city that year. He wanted to be the “main guy”

That's why players like Ferran Torres are so valuable. He's a good player that's willing to sit on the bench for the team. However he's not an elite player that can start for the biggest clubs itw. He's in that sweet spot where he's a really good option from the bench but not elite to be a starter for a top team

This is cities biggest problem imo. They let players go like Plamer, Alvarez, Lavia and Frimpong go all because of minutes. If these players stayed its far to say they would easily be the best team in the world

That’s why the best model imo will always be buy young backups with room to grow or buy veteran players towards the end of their careers. You can promise a young player a pathway into a team that motivates them to stay, and a veteran player at the end of their careers will accept a lower role

Crazy how Utd had Sergio Romero on the bench for half a decade when he could walk into most prem sides

Solution is to have players that are not perfect replacements for each other, that offer something different, so you rotate not just to rest, but when you need something different for the team, to beat that week’s opponent.

That's why you have aging players or youngsters as backup not players on their prime

The problem is coaches playing their first team into the ground. For example, why was Haaland starting against Exeter?

A lot of big clubs get around this by paying huge wage bills. PSG being the main one that comes to mind.

It's all about how the manager does it. One of the best examples is PSG and Bayern and one of the worst is Barca and Madrid.

It’s difficult for top teams to balance this out. Imo Bayern and PSG are prolly doing the best job at rotating and also keeping the players happy with their playtime.
