All Balenciaga shoes with the exagerated look clamp down on the top of your foot. It is what keep your foot locked in because if it was all spacious like the toebox then your foot would move around

Yo I have two pair of steroid boots. Get a sponge put it in your sock. It’ll cover the bar and make them wearable. It’s the worst flaw but if you paid for them might as well find a way to use them.

Yea it’s the instep. Thankfully that part of boots is one that actually does break in and open up to your size but it is brutal. On engineer boots you need to break in the instep too and famously it sucks till its finally done
