My mom was crazy when I was growing up. She was so mean, but once she got dementia, she was the nicest funniest person I ever met in my entire life. I’m 48 and I don’t think I ever laughed with my mom as much as I did the last three years of her life. She died in August, but she still makes me laugh.

I’ll be honest the only reason I was able to tell my mother was showing signs of dementia was because I watched the signs of my grandmother had and noticed a lot of the same signs of my mom. I tried telling my dad to get her looked dad and nobody listen to me and now My Husband’s grandmother is showing signs and I’m telling them the same thing that I told my father, I’m just hoping one of them listens to me even told his grandmother I was like you’re showing signs of dementia.

okay but real talk, for my grandma it started with cooking, really basic things like putting sugar in a soup instead of salt, making tea with milk but forgetting to actually put the tea bag in, swapping milk with sour cream making cocoa, etc, and she herself wouldn't notice and would try to play it off it someone pointed it out
